COVID - 19

Covid-19 is a contagious disease caused by the novel Severe Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-COV-2). The virus that caused SARS-COV-2 is continuously changing, and new variants are expected to appear. We employ real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) which is a gold standard test used for Covid-19 diagnosis. The test is performed in the laboratory to process the amplification of the virus’s genetic material, if present in an individual’s specimen, and detects minute amounts of SARS-CoV-2 virus in a specimen, making these tests highly sensitive for diagnosing COVID-19. We keep our testing updated with the latest variants such as the ongoing Delta variant.
